Crushed basalt: Webinar on the sustainable solution for climate?

- Date 18/03/2025
- Type: Webinar
- Details: This webinar will explore the benefits of using crushed basalt to sequester carbon and increase or stabilise soil pH. The RASE Farm of the Future report highlighted that crushed basalt is a promising alternative to using lime to correct soil acidity. This could support increased yields for many crops, reduce N2O emissions by about 20% and increase soil carbon sequestration. In this webinar you will hear about the evidence behind the benefits of using rock dust in agriculture, and how farmers might put this knowledge into practice. The speakers include Professor David Beerling from the University of Sheffield and Professor Steve McGrath from Rothamsted. The webinar is open to all to attend live and the recording will be made available to RASE members to access on-demand following the event.
